EP007: #BlackLivesMatter and Supporting Queer Youth with Marissa Yang Bertucci
Wednesday Jun 03, 2020
Wednesday Jun 03, 2020
Buckle up, babes- this has been a WEEK! For this session, we harness "manic cowgirl energy" to start tackling what's happening in our world today. Later, we have referred out to school counselor and community activist, Marissa Yang Bertucci, to help answer a listener call about how to support our queer youth. Don't fret, to lighten the load we talk about some pop culture too. We love you. We're in this together. #BlackLivesMatter [CW: discussions of police brutality and racism]

EP006: Karen From Accountability
Wednesday May 27, 2020
Wednesday May 27, 2020
In mental health, accountability is key- to yourself, to your therapist, to your community, and to your social network. For this session, the babes begin to explore what accountability means and how it feels. Speaking of which, have you done your homework from last week? Is 2001's Josie and the Pussycats an underrated camp critique of capitalism? Did Charli XCX really just give us the quintessential quarantine album? And don't you worry- Batwoman is still definitely queer. All this and more on this week's QBT. Tune in next week for our conversation about supporting our queer youth.

EP005: Cope Floats
Wednesday May 20, 2020
Wednesday May 20, 2020
Howdy thumbsucker, is this tequila healthy? This week the babes are talking coping mechanisms. What are they? Why do coping strategies work for some and not others? Do we have control over them? Later, we have the honor of speaking with Oregon congressional candidate, Albert Lee, who shares some of his stories from the campaign trail and joins us in taking our meds. Are you caught up on Insecure? We sure hope so.
CW: Brief mention of disordered eating and self harm, and a frank conversation about racial violence.

EP004: Out of Office
Wednesday May 13, 2020
Wednesday May 13, 2020
Whether you're working remotely or not working at all, COVID-19 is hard. Stress, sleep problems, anxiety, boomer emails, and that uneasy but consistent feeling of dread you feel every time you start to relax, are just a few things your hosts are tackling this week. They also get into Michelle Obama's Becoming Documentary, sports (what?), and Karens that need their "I want to speak to the manager" cut or they will DIE. Then, we hold our first group session, and get some wonderful insight from our listener babes who've had work impacted by the pandemic.

EP003: My Loneliness Ain't Killin Me
Wednesday May 06, 2020
Wednesday May 06, 2020
Oops, our session went over time this week, but don't worry, insurance covers it. In this episode the babes begin to talk about the queer experience of loneliness and some tips to navigate it (thanks to everyone who wrote in). Later, they get excited about the Savage Remix (thank you @theestallion and @beyonce), Rina Sawayama, #BlackAF, Midnight Gospel, HBO's We're Here, the FANTI Podcast, and um well one thing led to another and Britney Spears burned her gym down. Is the Never Ending Story Gay? Maybe so. Lastly we talk with Candace Avalos who is running for Portland City Council (Position 1). Mail your ballot by May 14th! Next week, we're talking about work and mental health in the time of COVID-19.
