EP32: The DSM is Sh*t with Leila Ellis-Nelson, PsyD
Wednesday Dec 02, 2020
Wednesday Dec 02, 2020
This session we are joined by Leila Ellis-Nelson, PsyD to discuss diagnostic bias in the DSMV (Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders). Dr. Ellis-Nelson is a podcast host, consultant, author, and professor. She gives us concrete examples of how diagnostic bias creates harm in our communities, and how mental health clinicians can be transparent and collaborative in their work. But first, we talk Dula Peep's Studio 2054, Glenn Close's hillbilly cosplay, the baddest bunny, and Plastic Hearts. Aubrey Plaza and Kristen Stewart SHOULD HAVE BANGED. Catch up with Leila's work and other readings, videos, and music with our Recs and Resources doc. Like, Subscribe, Comment, Review...you know the drill. We love ya.

EP31: This Time, It's Personal
Wednesday Nov 25, 2020
Wednesday Nov 25, 2020
For our 31st session we are giving you updates about our own personal work in therapy and get REAL vulnerable about where we are in our own mental health journeys. This stuff is not always easy, y'all! But before we get into those juicy deets, we talk some mad sh*t and dive into: the Fresh Prince Reunion Special, The Mandalorian's continuous decline, new Adventure Time, and Broad City?? Then, we get some Good News from THEE Stallion, Shygirl slimes us, Kali Uchis is fighting her demonios, Miley and Miss Peep are definitely finger banging, and Remi Wolf thinks you're a dog. Are you going to get the Dolly vaccine? Remember kids, thanksgiving is a scam. Give your money to Indigenous folks this week and make a plan to honor them and their land throughout the year. Read, listen, and watch along with us by checking out our Recs and Resources doc. You can support QBT by doin that like, subscribe, and share bit everyone's always talkin' about. We'd appreciate it. We love you. xx

EP28: Prepping for the SAD Months
Wednesday Nov 04, 2020
Wednesday Nov 04, 2020
It's the day after the election and we have no idea what happened because we can't tell the future, BUT we have a great episode for you all about taking care and prepping ourselves for the darkness. SAD (Seasonal Affective Disorder) hits hard during Fall/Winter for a lot of us, so coming up with a plan before we are in the thick of it can be a great way to prevent a deep dive into depression. Before we get into "the work", we get excited over Nicole Kidman's new wig, Ariana's lullabies, Laverne Cox's bayang, and fake Melania. Most importantly, we are actin like a slut while looking like a b*tch. Don't forget to rate/subscribe/review and check out our Recs and Resources doc. We love you. Take care.
